Welcome to Shokunin USA, home of handcrafted knives, personalized blades, and outdoor essentials.

As a Purdue alumni and lifelong knife enthusiast, I turned my passion for blades into a profession. Knife making is also part of my family heritage. My father and grandfather passed down their tools, discipline, precision, and respect for craftsmanship.

My grandfather specialized in highly precise surgical blades, and I grew up learning many of the same techniques used to make scalpels for medical professionals. That experience taught me the importance of steel, geometry, sharpness, balance, and attention to detail.

Those principles continue to guide Shokunin USA today.

Forging Damascus involves layering and heating different types of steel, then hammering and folding them to create a distinctive patterned blade known for its strength and beauty.

Removing Excess Metal

Knife grinding involves shaping and refining the blade's edge and profile through precision grinding techniques, enhancing sharpness and functionality.

Hardening

Hardening is a heat treatment process that strengthens the knife's steel, making it tougher and more resilient by carefully controlling heating and cooling cycles.

Signature Sharpening
